Gehl Company sets long term growth path in Australia.
In 1859 an agricultural implement company, housed in a small blacksmith shop, was started in West Bend, Wisconsin USA. From these humble beginnings, GEHL Company has grown to be a major force in the compact equipment industry worldwide with one of the world’s largest range of Skid Steer Loaders on the market today.
Today in Australia the next chapter in The Gehl Companies 150 year history is being written with the appointment of Manitou Australia as the national importer of Gehl products.
Manitou Australia is the Australian subsidiary of Manitou BF, Ancenis, France the world’s leading manufacturer of rough terrain material handling equipment. Manitou BF is also the parent company of Gehl Company following the acquisition of Gehl Company by Manitou BF, in October 2008.
Stuart Walker, General Manager, Manitou Australia commented “The appointed of Manitou Australia on the surface is a logical development for the Gehl Company being a subsidiary of Manitou BF as is Manitou Australia, however since the acquisition of the Gehl Company Manitou Australia has been in discussions with the Gehl Company to ensure that each party showed the same long term growth plans, but even more importantly we needed to ensure that both companies showed a common philosophy and goals in customer support.
Manitou Australia has a strong independent dealer network across metropolitan and regional Australia and our goal is to offer exceptional customer service.”
